Kyle is an Education Technology Specialist at CHSD117 in northern Lake County, Illinois, and serves the students and staff of Antioch Community and Lakes Community High Schools. In this role, he focuses on professional development, providing “just-in-time support,” evaluating new technologies, developing tech best practices, and helping teachers and students “work smarter, not harder.” Kyle specializes in finding solutions to tech needs in the classroom, for both teachers and students, and seeing and unraveling tech issues and questions from multiple perspectives: teacher, student, parent, administrator, and management/back-end.

Before joining CHSD117, Kyle worked at the Lake County Tech Campus, where he provided technical support and training for their staff. A former elementary, middle, and high school music educator, Kyle has also worked for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in curriculum building and education, family, and community programming, and he has also worked in enterprise IT. In addition to helping his staff master their tech, Kyle works closely with the Lakes Eagle Theatre and music programs, supervising sound. You might also find him behind a camera or computer livestreaming various D117 events. When he’s not doing any of that, he enjoys gaming, fishing, camping, watching the Cubs, traveling to new places with family, and all things Star Trek.
